Thank you for your interest in the MSc Mental Health Recovery and Social Inclusion, you can also find information on the course on the University of Hertfordshire website.


Students on the Programme will register for the Theory and Practice module in September 2015.


Those who successfully complete two modules will be eligible for a Postgraduate Certificate or you can register for the Postgraduate Diploma or Master of Science. Feesbe payable are(£1.170 per 30 credit module, £2,340 for the Posgraduate Certficate, £4,680 for the Postgraduate Diploma, £7,020 for the Master of Science.


You will need to demonstrate in the statement in the application form that that you have involvement in mental health services as a service user, carer, professional or have policy/management responsibilities. In addition you will need to set out why you believe the Masters will benefit you and your work.


You will need a first degree (minimum 2:2), IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. You will need an academic and work reference. If you are applying as a person with lived experience of mental health challenges please ensure that you make this clear in your personal statement. You may be asked to undertake a test to ensure that you will be able to happily manage to fulfill the academic requirements of the course.


Please note that there is no physical attendance at the University for the Masters. It is entirely online. The time commitment for each of the 4 modules prior to the Dissertation project will be a total of 300 hours of activities.


There will be no unseen examinations- assessments are formative (not marked, but you must complete them) and summative written assessments. The dissertation will be supported by a nominated supervisor and will consist of a written piece of 12000 words based on primary research; an innovation in practice; critical analysis of an area of policy and or practice; or a clinical audit.

Event Registration Open!

On the 14th May 2015, there will be an free open event where a student on the MSc Mental Health Recovery and Social Inclusion interviews two of the professors (who are also module leaders, discussions about the course and more widely about issues relating to mental health recovery and social inclusion).


This will be followed by a more traditional online ‘open day’ event with the broader course team who will describe the course and answer any questions that prospective students may have about delivery and content.
